This was floating around Facebook today and I loved it so much I wanted to share.  All of us parents with daughters can relate.  :)

  1. My husband says when our daughter starts dating he will tell all the boys, ‘whatever you do to her, I will do to you.’

  2. I want the same application for girls to date my son. Because they’re NOT innocent of all wrong either. I want a good girl for my son, too.

      I agree. I had a son and a daughter and dating scares the hell out of me with both of them. :) I’m glad we have a few more years before we get there.

  3. Now, I realise that this is probably meant to be perceived as a joke, but it is something I truly disagree with;
    it is necessary and vital for children to be granted freedom. Parents are there to nurture and raise children
    in a fashion that optimizes the child’s right to the pursuit of happiness. They have no right to dictate to another
    human being, including their child what they can and cannot do in the course of their life. In the quest to shelter and “protect” children, many parents are preventing them from learning the intricacies and nuances of the human social dynamic. Such a “form for approval to date daughter” benefits only the parents’ irrational paranoia.

  4. Hilarious! Thanks for sharing it. Yes, we all want to fiercely protect our kids from unscrupulous characters, but truth be told my kids will probably lose respect for me for “not trusting them”. All we can do is take a deep breath and continue to equip them best we can to make decisions that protect them too.

  6. I think this would absolutely be a great icebreaker for the parents and boyfriend first time meeting… As long as it’s taken lightly and in good fun. Please don’t file this in a file cabinet. lol.
